Present continuous tense

* it's called to Progressive & imperfect tense ( अपूर्ण वर्तमान काल )

Definition :---

present continuous is  describe actions  that have not been completed in the current time .it is used to  express an ongoing or ongoing action at the present time. It expresses a verb that is in progress at the time of speaking. It is also called the present progressive Period

(Present continuous उन कार्यों का वर्णन कर रहा है जो वर्तमान समय में पूरे नहीं हुए हैं इसका उपयोग वर्तमान समय में चल रही या जारी कार्यवाही को व्यक्त करने के लिए किया जाता है यह क्रिया को व्यक्त करता है जो बोलने के समय प्रगति पर है इसे वर्तमान काल भी कहते हैं )

Example :----

1. वह पढ़ रहा है
2. मैं खेल रहा हूं
3. सोहन स्कूल जा रहा है



Main characteristics :-----

(I) at what time did the work began in the past. its time is not known .

( भूतकाल में कार्य किस समय आरंभ हुआ उसका समय नहीं मालूम पड़ता है )

(ii) that work continues even at the present time .the work . does not end .

( वह कार्य वर्तमान में भी जारी रहता है | कार्य समाप्त नहीं होता है | )

(iii) I do not know when that work will end in future

( कार्य भविष्य में कब समाप्त होगा यह मालूम नहीं रहता है | )


Identity :-- हिंदी वाक्यों के अंत में  प्राय :- रहा है, - रही है, - रहे हैं , -- रहा हूं , -- रही हूं  , --रहे हैं , या हुआ है       हुई है , -- हुए हैं ,--  हुआ हूं शब्द आते हैं | 

Example :-
               1. विद्यार्थी पढ़ रहे हैं | 
                2.वह कमरे में बैठा हुआ है | 
                3. सीता कमरे में सोई हुई है




Usages of present continuous :----

   1. The work that is happening right now .
     ( जो  कार्य अभी इस समय हो रहा है | )

  Eg -- विद्यार्थी इस समय अंग्रेजी पढ़ रहे हैं

       The Students are reading English at this time


   2. The work happening these days .
      ( जो कार्य इन दिनों हो रहा है | ) 

 Eg.-- विद्यार्थी इन दिनों कठिन परिश्रम कर रहे हैं

     Students are working hard these days.

3. What is going to happen in the future.
    ( जो कार्य भविष्य में होने जा रहा है | )

Eg -- मैं  कल अपना नया जॉब जॉइन करूंगा | 

       I am joining my new job tomorrow.


4. Verb indicate change of present state/ situation .
     ( परिस्थिति परिवर्तन की सूचना के लिए )

  Eg -- बर्फ धीरे-धीरे जल में परिवर्तन हो रही है

        The ice is slowly turning  into water .



Adverbials   of the present continuous tense :----

       At this time , at this moment , at present , now , now -- a -- days , these days

      Still , today , tonight etc.

   Helping verb ( सहायक क्रिया ) :-     

     there are three helping verbs in present continuous   

        1.     Is     2. Am        3. Are

1.use of " is " with  he , she , it and singular noun

2. Use of "am " with. I

3. Use of " are" with we , you , they  and plural noun .


Verb (  क्रिया  ) :---

     First form of the verb + ing. ( v1 + ing )

Formula :-- subject  + is / am / are  + v1 +  ing  + object + etc. 

Example :--


         1. मोहन पत्र लिख रहा है  

                 Mohan ( subject )  ,  latter ( object )   write ( verb ) 

                 Mohan is writing a letter .

            2. वे विद्यालय जा रहे हैं

                 They are going to  school 

            3. बच्चे इस समय बगीचे में खेल रहे हैं

                Children are playing at this time

            4. मैं इन दिनों  एक पुस्तक लिख रहा हूं

                I am writing a book these days.

          5.  वे अगले  सोमवार को आएंगे

              They are coming on next Monday.
